Speaking to CNN, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s press officer Yasemin Acar said that around 30 international human rights activists were on board, adding that the vessel’s generators were the intended target. Acar also stated that SOS calls sent to surrounding countries, including Malta, were responded to by a “small boat” from Southern Cyprus.
