This episode of At Week's End with Neil Boggs discusses Rosa Parks: Mother of the Civil Rights Movement. When Rosa Parks rebelled against the norms of 1955, she had no idea her act of defiance would be the stepping stone that it was for Black people in America. Parks refused to give up her bus seat for a white man in a time when Black people, especially in Montgomery, Alabama, were viewed as inferior and treated as second-class citizens. She is today considered to be the mother of the civil rights movement and visited Albuquerque recently for the observance of Black History month throughout the United States.
