Dar Ahmad was shot 25 times by Israeli forces during his arrest and reportedly came close to death twice more while in detention, after being severely beaten by Israeli guards. He had been sentenced to 20 years in an Israeli prison but was released yesterday after spending around three and a half years behind bars.
