Each of her paintings depict what she has lived through during Israel’s genocide in Gaza, including bombing, destruction, and flooding. She said she hopes to be able to paint beautiful things again, not just war, such as “Gaza as it was before”. The United Nations children’s agency Unicef has previously warned of the traumatic psychological impact of the war, estimating that almost all of Gaza’s children need urgent mental health and psychosocial support.
