US President Donald Trump held separate talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun after the ceasefire between the US, Israel and Iran left confusion over whether Lebanon was included in the deal. Israel continued to bombard Lebanon despite the ceasefire with Iran, with the deadliest attack killing over 350 people on 8 April in several strikes across the country. Despite a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in 2024, Israel committed over 10,000 violations in the span of a year, according to a UN report. Hezbollah did not return any rocket fire during that time, but began targeting Israel after the assasination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in the opening attacks of the US and Israel’s war on Iran.
